Globalization now affects every industry, as journalist Thomas L. Friedman illustrated in the bestseller, The World is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century.
The AIA Committtee on Architecture in Education (CAE) invites you to attend Schools in a Flat World, a conference exploring cutting-edge, globalized approaches to school design and project delivery in a changing world. This international gathering will attract distringuished architects and school building professionals from across the globe to share their best practices and case studies.
- Guided tours will visit Helsinki schools that follow a collaborative global model for their design and construction.
- Speakers will include notable architects from around the world who have followed this same model.
- Case studies will include projects from as far away as South Africa, where the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls broke new ground-not only physically but culturally.
