Schools in Flat World (CAE)
Scandic Marski Hotel
Helsinki-Finland
September 11-13, 2008

Globalization now affects every industry, as journalist Thomas L. Friedman illustrated in the bestseller, The World is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century.

The AIA Committtee on Architecture in Education (CAE) invites you to attend Schools in a Flat World, a conference exploring cutting-edge, globalized approaches to school design and project delivery in a changing world. This international gathering will attract distringuished architects and school building professionals from across the globe to share their best practices and case studies.

  • Guided tours will visit Helsinki schools that follow a collaborative global model for their design and construction.
  • Speakers will include notable architects from around the world who have followed this same model.
  • Case studies will include projects from as far away as South Africa, where the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls broke new ground-not only physically but culturally.

Faculty, Non AIAs students and those who experience difficulties with the online registration please print a registration form (click here)and return via fax to 202-626-2569 or email at meetings@aia.org
